02002 Ford Thunderbird Road Test
This heritage flavored design exercise was meant to recapture America’s good feelings about Ford cars. The new Thunderbird was an inventive interpretation of the iconic 55-57 ‘Bird and changed very little in the transition from show car o road car. The 2002 T-bird shared variations of the engine and chassis also used by the Lincoln LS8 and Jaguar S-type. The deluxe model was well equipped, while the Premium package added traction control and chrome wheels. Deluxe and premium models were available with a removable hardtop that featured the ’57 T-Bird’s signature porthole window.
