2002: NAIAS and Los Angeles Auto Show
The word of the 2002 January car show season was Trucks.Big ones, small ones, weird ones, and ones that apparently “crossed over” something. Given that light trucks outsold cars in 2001, there was no denying the significance of such vehicles as the Honda Pilot, the Lexus GX470, and the Subaru Baja. So imagine the relief when seeing actual cars, real production bound cars on the auto show stands. None of them had a big boxy cargo area, and several actually promised to be fun to drive.
