2002: NAIAS Detroit Auto Show
The 2002 North American International Auto Show in Detroit registered 759,907 visitors during its public days, Jan. 12-21. That’s down by about 10,000 compared with 2001’s 769,714, but officials weren’t disappointed. “All in all, the show is a win for everyone involved – car shoppers, journalists and manufacturers,” says Mike Savoie, NAIAS 2002 co-chairman. On the final Sunday (Jan. 20), the show set an attendance record of 106,121, the most visitors on any Sunday at NAIAS.
