2003 Suzuki Aerio SX Test Drive

2003-suzuki-areo-SX2This slick replacement for the Esteem transitioned into 2003 with the addition of the optional 4WD package.  Two body configurations were available: a conventional sedan in S and GS trims or the Aerio SX crossover sport wagon, which was a GS only offering.  All Aerio variants were powered by a 2.0L 141hp twin cam I-4, offering a 5M/4A transmission choice and came standard with air conditioning, power windows/mirrors, AM/FM/CD stereo, digital instrumentation, tilt steering, fog-lamps, and numerous other neat touches.

Suzuki had made the Aerio/Aerio SX a great replacement for the Esteem…but it’s a very unique car until it got replaced by the bland Suzuki Forenza years later. I remember the exact same, but similar Suzuki Aerio SX was offered as a prize on “Whammy” when I was a kid.
