02006 Dodge Charger Police Package Test Drive
Police across the country had been waiting for a competitor to Ford’s Crown Victoria-based Police Interceptor. For 2006 they finally had one: the Dodge Charger Police. GThe new rear-drive sedan in a special law enforcement version came with a choice of a 250-hp V6 or a 340-hp Hemi V-8 engine. (It would be to your benefit if you knew which one was in your rear-view before you tried to flee.) Enhancements included a high performance suspension , V-Rated tires and five-speed automatic transmission. All the mandatory items were there on the order form too, including dual A-pillar mounted spotlights, a mounting bracket for radio, computer and paperwork, and an “easy-path grommet” in the firewall for the extra wiring harnesses.
