1980: Here is the 1983 Corvette
Yes, we all know the 1983 did not exist. Let’s move on. The redesign of the Corvette was scheduled for 1983 w/o any interruption in production. The hunch was it would continue the wedge theme that was present in the C3 since 1968. The low, back sloped nose and high, spoilered rear end of the 80s would bracket the new body that was slightly smaller on the outside but much roomier inside. A lowered belt-line and more glass area were correct, but the appearance was more revolutionary, than evolutionary as this picture depicted.
