01975: Chrysler copies FoMoCo
These two near identical twins were Chrysler’s answer to the Granada/Monarch series. The Dodge Aspen, and Plymouth Volare, basically the same car with minor trim changes. The Volare two door illustrated here was the artists concept on how Chrysler potentially handle the coupe variation, based on spy shots spotted in April of 1975. While know as direct competition to the ‘then’ new Ford/Mercury compacts, i feel the artist was unable to shake that knowledge when penciling his rendering.
