All Cadillac’s except the Brougham were upgunned in 1989 with a new engine, a 4.5-liter variant of Cadillac’s 4.1-liter all-aluminum V8.  In every installation except the Allante, the engine made 155 hp.  Four corner MacPherson struts and coil springs with Electronic Level Control and “superlift” air-adjustable rear struts.  Tire and wheels were upsized, wheels mounted Michelin all-season rubber. The PASS-Key (Personalized Automotive Security System) anti-theft scheme, drivers’s side supplemental restraint system and the Electriclear windshield de-icer were significant new options.
