Introduced for the 1989 model year, the Dodge Spirit and Plymouth Acclaim represented the ultimate evolution of Chrysler’s beloved K-car. The majority of the old models shortcomings were improved, especially the suspension which now handled better with appreciable comfort. While available only as a 4-door sedan, there was a choice between a nice quiet 2.5-liter engine, a 2.5-liter turbo or the top of the line 3-liter V6 along with three finish levels. The K car’s traditional appearance was rounded and competed directly with Chevrolet’s Corsica.
