11994: Los Angeles Auto Show
1994 proved to be quite aggressive with introductions from the import brands in Los Angeles. Particularly the Asian manufacturers, considering this market was and is import centric, would induce little surprise. Kia made their North American Debut with the production Sephia, and concept Sportage. Despite Isuzu beating Nissan to the ‘SUV convertible’ concept, with its Trooper soft top, Nissan was not as opportune in their decision to actually build one. Clean energy has also been a culture of southern California, and the electrification concepts abounded from Toyota with its then future RAV4 based, EV-50, and Honda’s EVX. Performance was present as always with the domestic brands, along with the exotics!
