51991 Dodge Spirit R/T Test Drive
Yet another car to with roots to the K-Car platform, the Spirit/Acclaim were designed to take on the sensible intermediates from Ford, Honda and Toyota. But when it’s time to trade in practicality for adventure, Dodge introduced the Spirit R/T, a multiple personality car with fewer competitors. With a 224hp turbocharged four cylinder engine with only one horsepower than a Mustang 5 liter of the era, putting power through the front wheels produced obvious torque steer. Costing less than direct rival Taurus SHO, it proved quicker in a straight line, yet with less refinement. With comments like “a real rollercoaster ride, the smooth spirit personality is replaced with a saw toothed demeanor that would even scare Mr Hyde” it shows how raw the Spirit to be.
OH YEAH 1991-1992 DODGE SPIRIT R/T TURBO I-4 224 HP AND 217 LB-FT OF TORQUE 0-60 MPH:6.4 SEC AND 1/4 MILE 15.1 SEC AT 97 MPH
Quick lil’ sucker this!
Nice! I gotta get mine back on the road. Shes been sitting for far too long. Time to put in some wrench work. High hope for the near future. These cars are incredible. If you have one you can relate to that.
Jeez, the guy in the video looks like he is trying to rip the shifter right out of the console!
