1988 Toyota Celica 4WD Turbo Test Drive
Most of Toyota’s 1988 lineup had a few new tricks, yet none bristled with high tech trickery like the Celica 4WD Turbo.
The Car’s cornerstone was its turbocharged two liter sixteen valve four cylinder engine with horsepower and torque output, both at 190. Full time four wheel drive helped the Celica put its power to good use, with a 50/50 distribution. Unfortunately all this goodness added weight, 532 more than the GTS to be exact. The Celica All-trac Turbo not only showed all the signs of being a great car, it also showed what great things happened at Toyota back then!
