1989: GMC gears up for a Desert Storm

GMC Truck used the North American International Auto Show in Detroit to publicly display for the first time a “concept” version of the impending 4-door Jimmy.  Shown as the GMC Kalahari, “a high performance, 4-door luxury version” of the S-15 Jimmy.  Its modified to produce 215 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque through the 4-speed automatic transmission.  Among the show-truck bits added to this, were “ground effects” panels all around, fender flares, and composite headlamps.
