1980: X-Car Convertibles

It didn’t take long for the coach builders to catch up to the General Motors X-Car as prime candidates for top removal, as evidenced by this Pontiac Phoenix.

This conversion was available for all 2-door X-cars, including a permanent glass rear window, new window shield header, and single side window top design, with floor pan strengthening built in.  The entire rear seat area remained original.  Now, find me an X-11 version.

Wow. A nice X-11 (with cowl hood) in convertible form would have been awesome. Even a Phoenix in luxo trim would have standed out. Not sure about the look with top up but i guess that a bit more development would have solved that
