31981 Cadillac Options Dealership Training Video
Looking back to the early 1980’s, we often take for granted the niceties that we have come to expect in everyday cars, let alone luxury models. Once boasted as the ‘Standard of the World’, you would expect Cadillac to not only offer an extensive list of features and options, but also to present specialty technology to live up to that tag. Many of the items in the video that may have been considered the lap of luxury, including digital gauges, touring suspension, upgraded ‘stereo’, power leather seats, and astro roof.
But pay attention, and some peculiar elements may have you reversing to ensure you were hearing correctly (for 1981 mind you!). Guidematic headlamp control, not only allows you a ‘flash to pass’ feature that American cars were slow to accept, but the ability to leave your headlamps on high beams, allowing them to switch back to low upon the approach of oncoming vehicles, all automatically. Built in garage door opener. Heated side mirrors. Puncture self sealing tires, and an HD chassis for the brougham that was described as best for rural areas with less than ideal roads! Interesting.
Amenities we take for granted today perhaps, but hard to believe some of them were offered over 30 years ago. The Cadillac of options!
I Like Cadillac King Of Luxury Car Of All Time
Cadillac and Olds were leading the way with many of these options that are just now becoming standard in cars, It’s a wonder why at one point they stopped offering them.
I keep watching these old Cadillac videos. Makes me want to buy an 80’s Cadillac. Still impressed with them after all these years. I’ll take that silver Brougham Coupe please.
