Sharing a common front-drive platform, the DeVille and Fleetwood families represented the heart of Cadillac’s sales, appealing to the traditional American Luxury-car buyers. As with other Cadillac front-drive entries, the biggest news here was increased power, thanks to the overbore of the aluminum block V-8 engine, going from 4.1 to 4.5 liters and 130 to 155 horses. The Coupe and Sedan de Ville remained the division’s mainstay sellers, managing over 152,000 combined. Base prices were around $23,000.
