1981 Pontiac Efficiency System Promo

More Pontiac Know How to the Gallon. The beloved ‘Check Engine’ light. I am sure we have all experienced this ‘I hope it just goes away’ moment of car ownership. In this video, Pontiac actually says this light may correct itself and go away, but if it stays on to actually have it corrected. But for how long? Well we may have to dig out our 1981 Pontiac owners manual to verify the period…anyone? GM’s Fuel Management or Computer Command Control system, supposedly increased operating efficiency while decreasing cost of ownership, by monitoring fuel, and air intake, and driving habits, and adjusts a solenoid accordingly to eliminate the need for idle adjustments and other pre CCC alterations. Gotta’ love 80s analog tech in its infancy!
