1983: Chrysler’s French Connection
Chrysler Corp’s working agreement with Peugeot reportedly was to result in a 1984 replacement for the Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon series, based on the contemporary Peugeot 105. The all-new design was scheduled for unveiling at the Geneva Show in the winter of 1984, with the coupe and convertible variations due at the Paris show later that year. The new Omni/Horizon would feature a short overall length combined with a long wheelbase, resulting in lots of interior space and better packaging.
