In their first overhaul since they were downsized in 1986, General Motors wanted to put some distance – mechanically and stylistically between the Buick and Oldsmobile personal luxury cars and Cadillac’s Seville and Eldorado. Thus, the 95 Riviera would begin sharing chassis components with the full-size Park Avenue.
The wheelbase climbed from 108 inches to 110.8, with a similar increase overall length. Buick’s large coupe received dramatic restyling that hearkened back to the original 1963 edition.
I have not seen this in decades. I just sat here and watched the images. They hid the actual Riviera pretty well.
