01995 Chevrolet Lumina LS Test Drive
As the Bow-Tie division’s competitor to Ford’s Taurus, the Lumina underwent a thorough makeover for 1995. The result was a car that was more accommodating, athletic, and aerodynamic than ever before. It was filled with a level of comfort and safety features for which the previous generation Lumina could only wish. A stiffer body structure improved ride, handling, and crash-worthiness. Dual airbags, anti-lock brakes, an anti-theft system, and air conditioning were included as standard equipment. Only a sedan body style was available; the coupe became rebadged as the Monte Carlo. Power cam from a base 3.1-liter OHV V-6 or optional 3.4-liter DOHC V-6.
