1998 Volvo C70 Test Drive

Unlike anything Volvo had produced up until then, the C70 combined sleek styling and aggressive performance. You hadn’t seen a Volvo like this before. The C70 was based on Volvo’s 70 platform, using all of the same drivetrain components as well as the usual Volvo safety enhancements. Unique suspension refinements and high performance tires gave the C70 a personality of its own. It had fixed B pillars, swing out rear windows, and seated four. As such it competed with the Mercedes CLK, BMW 3-series, and the Lexus SC coupes. There was one trim level, one engine, and one bold statement.
