1983: Chevrolet’s Ferrari 400i Automatic?

Chevrolet Design Studio 3 (where the Camaro and Corvette were conceived) was working on the new Beretta II.  It was reportedly derived from the Camaro chassis with an extended wheelbase, had four individual seats, wraparound soft plastic front end, and potentially powered by a 350-cu-in. V-8.  Some observers characterized it as a domestic challenger to the Ferrari 400i Automatic…. minus the  vertical pillared door handles.
