1983: Chevy Monte Camarlo?

Sounds weird, doesn’t it?  A Chevrolet product that’s a Monte Carlo and a Camaro at the same time? Well, that was the rumor.  That was what Chevrolet was working on.  Gossip was plentiful that Chevrolet was taking a hard look at producing a long wheelbase 4-seater notchback body shell off the zoomy 3rd gen F-body platform, adding some special paint and graphic trickery, calling the result a Camaro Monte Carlo.  Reported it would replace the contemporary G-body after it was phased out.
