1992: Was Honda’s Today Fit?
The gradual up-sizing of the Civic left a vacuum that Honda had long wanted to plug with a new entry-level car. The Honda Today in Japan was not considered to have wide enough appeal; instead, a slightly shrunken Civic was studied. Honda was still sizing up various markets to see if a single car could be sold successfully in different regions.
